Introduction

The CEMIC-Microsystems Engineering is a member of the Technological Innovation Centres Network of the Government of Catalonia.

The CEMIC, supported by EME and SIC, research groups of the Department of Electronics of the University of Barcelona, directs its R+D activities toward meeting the needs of the productive fabric and increasing innovation among companies.

The CEMIC's aim is the research of materials for new microsystem principles and properties, new fabrication and assembling techniques, new algorithms to integrate information processing at the same level as the elements that produce or use it, and research into new uses for microsystems in micro-instrumentation and process control. The scientific results are used in research areas such as Bioengineering, Health Science, Environmental studies, Agriculture and the Food industry.

The results can also be used for Car Industry, Robotics, Instrumentation and the Pharmaceutical Industry.
